Abdul Kalam once said, “Let us sacrifice our today so that our children can have a better tomorrow.” Thankfully, many people live by this quote each day, and execute acts that will benefit the world’s future generations. As some children require more attention than others, a greater effort is needed to ensure that they receive equal opportunities that will guarantee their safety and happiness.

Avi Weisfogel is a physician with extensive experience in sleep studies as well as dental medicine. Though establishing his own practice allowed him to feel fulfilled in serving his public and those in need, something inside him sparked that forced him to want to do more–specifically for a younger crowd. The kind soul decided to team with Operation Smile, an international charitable organization designed to lessen the effects of dental conditions for children whose families cannot afford to pay for medical expenses, to establish a GoFundMe for the charity.

After obtaining his BA in biology and psychology from Rutgers University and DDS from New York College of Dentistry, Weisfogel began traveling the country to lecture dentists on how to serve sleep patients. Above all else, though, the educated individual has demonstrated vast philanthropic qualities, so his GoFundMe page establishment was no surprise.

With a goal of two thousand dollars set for the operation, the husband and wife team who established Operation Smile along with Weisfogel were proud to announce the launch of this page, and are hopeful to see some positive results. In an interview, Weisfogel said, “Operation Smile believes that every child deserves exceptional surgical care and that all children deserve to be treated as if they were our own.” Without a doubt, this mentality is crucial in guaranteeing the equal rights of the innocent, and thankfully individuals like Weisfogel exist to assume the role and to possess the attributes that so many people lack.
