It takes a special kind of performer with a unique kind of drive to make the transition from a successful child actor into a successful adult actor. Yet Crystal Hunt, the Daytime Emmy nominee who made her name with her role as Lizzie Spaulding on “Guiding Light,” has that kind of drive. She acted on “Guiding Light” from 2003 to 2006, and garnered a fan following as well as the Emmy nomination. She then followed up that success with a role on “One Life to Live.” She stayed on “One Life to Live” from 2009 to 2010, and then returned for special guest appearances.
Crystal’s career began early, when she first appeared in a pageant as a little two year old, competing with a pageant talent of “acting.” Obviously, this little girl knew what she wanted, as she continued working as a child performer from then on, moving into commercials, which included a part in Disney’s 25th Anniversary commercial. Her success on the soaps followed, but she also appeared in feature films.
In 2005, Crystal appeared in “The Derby Stallion,” and she followed that with a role in Universal Pictures’ 2007 release “Sydney White.” It’s in 2015, however, that Crystal is seeing a resurgence in her film career, as this year she has an executive producer credit on the feature “Talbot County.” She’s also resumed acting in films, with her notable appearance as an eccentric beauty who runs into Channing Tatum and his stripper friends in “Magic Mike XXL.”
Yes, Crystal Hunt’s film career is definitely sparkling these days, and there’s no doubt the transition from child to grown up performer has been successfully accomplished.
