Dr Rod Rohrich, M.D. of Dallas most likely qualifies as America’s premier plastic surgeon. His resume is prodigious and even overwhelming.Dr. Rod Rohrich has been in practice for over 35 years. He served as Chairman of the Department of Plastic Surgery at the University of Texas Southwestern for two decades. The university has been in the forefront of plastic surgery advancements under his leadership. There were new techniques and procedures used worldwide by plastic surgeons as well as gains in research, effectiveness and safety during this time. New advancements in breast surgery, facial rejuvenation and rhinoplasty were accomplished by Dr. Rod Rohrich and his team.

He became President of the American Society of Plastic Surgeons, the Texas Plastic Surgeons and the Rhinoplasty Society. He chaired more than 150 plastic surgery symposia and became editor-in-chief of Plastic and Reconstructive surgery, the most prestigious periodical on the subject.

Dr. Rod Rohrich authored over 1500 academic papers on his specialty, edited four textbooks and authored 30 textbook chapters.

He became affiliated with other local hospitals including Baylor University Hospital and Children’s Medical Center. His civic work included Board of Director positions on the March of Dimes, Save the Children/Dallas,and Dallas for Children.

Dr. Rod Rohrich was raised on a North Dakota ranch and received his undergraduate and graduate degrees with honors at North Dakota State and the University of North Dakota. He earned his medical degree with honors from Baylor and did his residencies at the University of Michigan, Massachusetts General and Oxford University.

He lives in Dallas with his wife, also a plastic surgeon.

  1. He received the Distinguished Service Award from the Plastic Surgery Educational Foundation. He traveled to third world countries to teach and perform plastic surgery. The best writing service should have used that to accomplish a lot of things if they want.
