Harrison Ford aka “Indiana Jones” at 72, has survived many exciting and dangerous adventures in the movies, but he survived a real life plane crash on premier Penmar Golf Course, Indiana Jones-style.
Los Angeles Fire Department officials reported Thursday that they found the pilot was alert, conscious, and breathing when they transported him from the scene.
Sources told NBC News that Ford slammed into the plane’s console and control stick and that he underwent surgery Thursday night. He was taken to the hospital where they announced that the injuries were not life-threatening. Fans at Anastasia Date have learned that his publicist, Ina Treciokas, said he is expected to make a full recovery.
Harrison was flying a WW2 vintage plane when it lost engine power. He had no other choice but to make an emergency landing, and attempted to return to the runway where he hit the top of a tree and landed on the golf course.
Patrick Jones of the National Transportation Safety Board confirmed Thursday that the crash happened after the pilot reported having problems with the plane.
